During his initial confinement of over five years when he wasn’t on his bunk with his bible, John was in a storage closet at Fox Lake Correctional Institution with his guitar writing music, singing and praying.

After his release from initial confinement in 2017 John started performing his solo acoustic set at various venues around southeastern Wisconsin playing original music he wrote in prison along with covers of his favorite artists such as Jason Isbell, The Lumineers, Chris Stapleton and Zach Williams.

Gary Frisch has played with Sacre Blues Band, The Hoot Owls, Brittnie Lee & Liquid Blue, and have sat in with many musicians including Doyle Bramhall II, The Mascot Theory, Sam Ness, Mark Joseph, The Rascal Theory, and Derek Ramnarace.

Ted Hawkins is a very accomplished musician and one of the best guitar players in the area. He has played with Muddy Waters, BB King, The Temptations, Bobby Bland, Chaka Kahn, and many others.

Together they play a mix of genres with everything from BB King to Kings of Leon. There are some blues, rock, funk, and country in the set list. Gary and Ted have joined forces four years ago and have many gigs under their belts together. Ted plays lead guitar and Gary plays harmonica and sings vocals over. It sounds like a much bigger band with a very full sound.
